Exactly a month from now, on the 21st of October 2021 the STEER-IT-UP event will take place in Brussels. Two European H2020 projects, Renaissance and Compile projects, will reveal how participatory approaches and user-centred tools can support new energy communities.
STEER IT UP – Hands on event
How tools and key results from the European projects Renaissance and Compile can help communities drive the energy transition
The Renaissance project will present its community-driven replicable approach, and offer participants the possibility to explore the potential of the MAMCA methodology, the web-based RENERGISE optimisation tool and see how the innovative RENAISSANCE platform provides real-time management of energy assets, network and storage. The Compile project will showcase the innovative aspects of five pilot sites that have positively affected the local economies, stimulated actors in the value chain to cooperate in order to maximize the societal benefit and foster the adoption of the technological solutions and tools provided.
The morning sessions will be dedicated to opening remarks and project introductions, followed by expert keynotes. Afterwards reports from pilot sites experiences will be presented and before lunch a panel session moderated by Stanislas D’Herbemont from REScoop.eu will involve keynotes, project members and representatives from other research projects exploring future solutions for energy communities.
The afternoon will be fully dedicated to parallel hands-on sessions, where all participants will have the chance to see and test how the innovative tools developed by both projects can support the broad deployment of local energy communities, from the early phases of preliminary design to multi-vector energy management and safe peer-to-peer transactions.
The objective of Steer it up! – Hands on event is that of giving participants the opportunity to test the tools developed by both projects. We’re aiming at a most informal event, where panel discussions will be feeded by open “Question & Answer” boards and members from both Consortia will exchange experiences and ideas to help overcome barriers met during pilot sites implementation.
