Finally we are able to share with the wide public our first Pilot’s story! Last September in Kimmeria’s student campus, thanks to RENAISSANCE, the installation of smart meters and data collection devices took place. If you are curious about technical details of all pilot sites, explore our interactive presentation.
RENAISSANCE interactive presentation
The smart-metering installation process required more than a week, starting with the design of connections layout and ending with data collection tests and integration.
In the first picture DUTH colleagues Diamantis Papatsoumis, Production Management Engineer, PhD candidate (left) and the foreman electrician (right) are studying the building layout. The first step was that of laying down all necessary cables. Thereafter the installation of meters and sensors took place in early September 2020. Some weeks after the team of plumbers installed the water meters outside the selected rooms.
First the installation of all cables and plumbing networks outside the rooms took place. Then the electricity meters, thermostat and humidity sensors were installed inside the rooms.
As final step the team installed the weather station in an external area. It will soon start providing methereological data to the RENAISSANCE platform which will use them for the forecasting modeling of local energy consumption.
